TP café in Prague and Zurich: Conversations That Connect Us

This past weekend, TP café continued its European journey, this time in Prague and Zurich, where we met with our people in an informal and open atmosphere, exchanged experiences, and talked about return, collaboration, and community.

As with previous gatherings, it became clear that the need for conversation, connection, and sharing experiences is not fading. On the contrary: in every new city, new questions arise and new bridges between the diaspora and Serbia are being built.

On Saturday afternoon, we gathered in Prague, where participants shared their long-standing experiences of living in the Czech Republic, as well as thoughts about returning and reestablishing life in Serbia. We discussed many practical topics – from enrolling children in kindergarten and purchasing property, to customs relief, career development, and entrepreneurship. There was also talk about concrete plans for starting a business in Serbia and the need for networking with potential partners and the local community. Through open dialogue, the Prague meeting once again showed how important it is to have a space where personal questions and challenges can be shared with others who understand and are going through similar processes.

The next morning, on Sunday, the conversation continued in Zurich. The gathering brought together a diverse group of people from various parts of Switzerland – from those who recently arrived to those who have lived in the country for years, including guests from the canton of Zug. We talked about migration experiences, plans for return, and how families adapt to the rhythm of life in Serbia. Our guests also exchanged useful tips based on their personal experiences, especially those related to administration, local procedures, and the many steps that most people in the diaspora face at some point.

In both cities, TP café reaffirmed what we already know: that genuine conversation is the most valuable tool for building trust, support, and concrete ideas and that it’s exactly in such spaces, in small groups of people willing to share, listen, and seek solutions, that a true sense of community begins to take shape.

Our participants didn’t just talk with us; they also met and connected with one another, exchanged contacts, and discovered shared experiences and plans. These are the moments that remind us why TP café exists: to be a space for connection, support, and collaboration.

Thank you to everyone who joined us – to those who traveled from other cities and cantons, and to those who found us through social media. The next TP café will take us to several more European cities, and we’ll continue to open space for conversations that matter.
