The community we build every day through Returning Point represents much more to us than just a group of people – it’s a space where ideas are born and where, together, we can create real, tangible change. It was precisely from this community, through conversations and a shared desire to do good, that the idea for our first impact donation campaign was born.
At our previous Serbian Expat Meetup event, we were excited to present this initiative – the goal was clear and meaningful: to equip the terrace of the hematology department at the University Children’s Hospital “Tiršova”, turning it into a peaceful retreat for the children receiving treatment there, their courageous parents who accompany them, and the medical staff who provide daily care and support.
Our community responded quickly and enthusiastically – both at the event and beyond – immediately jumping in with donations. Special support came from Ana Popović and her Pop Up event, where all proceeds from the sale of specially designed pieces were dedicated to this humanitarian cause. Through our shared energy and generosity, we raised 130,000 dinars, which provided 18 chairs, 3 tables, and 3 sun umbrellas for the terrace – making it a functional and welcoming space throughout the year.
Equipping the terrace gives the children and their families a place to rest and regain strength, while also providing the medical staff with better working conditions.
We are proud to have such a community, and to everyone who contributed in any way – thank you!
We look forward to future initiatives and invite all those interested to join us as we continue building a stronger, more compassionate community together.
